Best Gluten Free Bread EVER!

Step aside Food For Life Brown Rice Bread, I have found a new love, Organic Works Buckwheat Chia Gluten Free Bread!
I picked up this bread when I was ventured over to The Big Carrot a couple weeks ago, although it was pretty pricey, at $7.99, it was worth every penny.

Gluten free breads are usually very dense with not a lot of fluffiness like wheat bread, and mostly always they come frozen, but this bread is different. It has the texture and consistency of a piece of whole wheat bread. The flavour is nutty and it is packed with flax seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds and millet. I have definitely been appreciating every slice, and I froze it so that I could enjoy if for a longer time. I'll take a couple slices out the night before and make a sandwich with it the next day for lunch, or if I'm wanting a slice immediately, I'll just stick it in the microwave on auto-defrost for a few seconds and it comes out tasting chewy and fresh!

The ingredients are as follows: (*Organic ingredients) *light buckwheat, *flax seeds, *sunflower seeds, *millet, *chia seeds, fresh yeast, tapioca starch, *soya flour, *sunflower oil, *cider vinegar, *cane sugar, xanthan gum, sea salt. The bread is vegan, peanut/nut free, and trans fat free. Per slice of bread = 130 calories, 4.5g fat, 4g fiber, 3g sugar, and 5g of protein. Yum, yum, yum!

I'm so happy I found this new brand of gluten free bread, it's always fun to try something new. Although Organic Works has won my stomach over, I will still stay true to Food For Life Brown Rice Bread, as it is much more convenient for me to buy.

What are your favourite gluten free breads?

  3. Hey! This bread is amazing. We used to live in London and moved this summer. I talked to Peter and he was more than happy to start shipping it to a store near me. I talked to the store, he called them and not two weeks later...ta da!!! It was that easy. You MUST try their buns. AMAZING. So fresh and yummy. Perfect hamburger buns. I agree, it is the BEST GLUTEN-FREE BREAD EVER!! Now I can't wait to check out your blog :)
